Vienna, April 26, 1925
Dear Doctor,
Thank you for your two latest letters. I am glad that you like the autobiography. I wrote it without inner urgency merely on the insistence of the editor.
That you are gestating and that there may be an eruption soon I am glad to hear. You know I like originality even if it is linked with a little obstinacy. The latter on its own, as it manifests itself in Hattingberg, I cannot stomach, it seems to me a poor substitute for the former. I am not very well locally. My masochism as object of treatment is almost used up, it is time for me to be independent of the doctor.
With warmest regards to you and your wife
Yours Freud
