In this paper evidence, both theoretical and clinical is presented, in an effort to demonstrate that men, as well as women, can use sexual deprivation of their mates as an assertive, offensive weapon. They can do this consciously, by deliberate abstinence, or unconsciously, by resorting to impotence or preferably to premature ejaculation, mainly of secondary type.
The clinical, practical importance of this conceptualization is stressed, especially when the length of therapy is limited by external circumstances.
