The author puts perversion in a particular light. In her opinion it is a dimension of human psyche linked up with man's wish to escape from his condition. The author notices that perversions are particularly present before major historical ruptures, as if the hope for the advent of a new world, where everything would be 'possible', went hand in hand with the desire, on a sexual level, of escaping from the genital universe, i.e. the father's universe. The author suggests, taking the Marquis de Sade's works as an example, that we consider the world of perversion as being that of chaos and 'Hybris'.
The text which is the basis of the ethics of the Western world—i.e. The Bible—is the negative of the Sadian text. It establishes division, separation and nomination, which mean Moral Law. It goes strongly against mixture, hybridization (a word which comes from 'Hybris').
