We propose to devote one or two issues of the International Review of Psycho-Analysis in 1987 to articles on the theory and practice of the psychoanalysis of children throughout the world. Papers on this subject will be gratefully received and given careful consideration.
We regret that the hope of publishing an opening article by Riccardo Steiner on the historical background of the translation of Freud into English has been delayed. We hope it will appear in due course and meanwhile we are publishing other papers on the subject.
We look forward to receiving more articles or letters on the subject of the Standard Edition as described by last year's guest Editor, Dr Malcolm Pines. Dr D. G. Ornston's paper 'The invention of cathexis and Strachey's strategy' has already appeared (see page 391 of the 1985 Review) as has a letter from Dr M. J. Blechner.
We have progressed with the proposal for publication of a Spanish Year Book containing, in translation, the most interesting papers published in our two journals and we hope that 1986 may see the first volume.
Since the inauguration of the scheme whereby vernacular papers may be submitted to the Editorial Boards for Europe and Latin America, we have published or are publishing some ten such papers.
Once again we wish to thank the four Editorial Boards—for North America, Latin America, Europe and the United Kingdom—for their arduous, honorary work in assessing papers and in particular the Editors who are responsible for collating reports and advising us.
