Dear Dr. Cantor:
Subsequent to the publication of my article, “The Use of Audiotapes in Psychotherapy,” in the J. Am. Acad. Psychoanal. Dyn. Psychiatr. 13, 391-398 (1985), I discovered an important reference missed in the literature search upon which I drew my bibliography.
This paper written by Max Stern was entitled “Therapeutic Playback, Self Objectification, and the Analytic Process” and was published in the J. Amer. Psychoanal. Assn. 18, 562-598 (1970). While there are some minor differences in technique from that which I described, it is important that Stern's contribution be acknowledged.
