I was very impressed with Patrick McGorry's work during my recent visit to Melbourne where I participated in the ISPS triennial meeting which he organized. His group at the PACE Clinic and ORYGEN Youth Health, Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre are providing excellent and personal treatment for an impressive number of people. I would not be surprised to learn that there will be a significant reduction in the incidence of schizophrenia in Melbourne, and would consider this the result of their humane and highly dedicated work. McGorry has articulated the philosophy of this group very well in his letter.
