This work deals with the question of whether and how the awareness of mortality is reflected in dreams of old age. Based on the dream theory of Moser & von Zeppelin, the author examines his own dream diary and focusses on a typical dream type in which the »passing of time« determines the dream dynamics. In the discussion of this phenomenon, the function of dreaming is postulated as reparative and comforting.
