Drawing on the writings of Sigmund Freud, the author suggests that the categories of time and space require a specific approach in psychoanalysis. He discusses the timelessness of the unconscious in relation to Freud’s assertion that psychic work – which is necessarily linked to time – does not take place within psychic systems, but between them. On this basis, he critizises the concept of psychic space and proposes replacing any concept of psychic entity or structure with the concept of the event. Finally, he proposes a graphic model of the psychic apparatus to illustrate his conception, in which the perception-consciousness apparatus plays a central role.
