We are pleased in this issue to present a collection of interesting papers all of which concern a topic of current controversy within the field of psychoanalysis.
We begin with a series of review essays. Dr. K. R. Eissler critiques the work of Jeffrey Masson on Freud, while Dr. John Crow does the same for the work of Stephen A. Mitchell on relational concepts. We follow with a group of three essays on the significance of developmental research by three exceptionally qualified reviewers: Henri Parens, M.D., Aaron H. Esman, M.D., and Lissa Weinstein, Ph.D.
In recent years there has been renewed interest in and debate over various aspects of psychoanalytic technique. In this issue we present essays representing two very different approaches to psychoanalytic technique by Zvi Lothane, M.D., and Monroe Pray, M.D.
We conclude with what might be construed as an analytic contribution to the Murphy Brown, single-parent discussion in the form of an excellent case report by George Klavens, M.D.
