Dr. Nathaniel Karush asked Dr. Balkoura in what manner all this material came out. Did she offer any of it spontaneously? Did she make any connections herself? Dr. Balkoura said that Ms. S was quite inhibited and repressed. She had never talked to a psychiatrist before or for that matter to anyone at all about her problems. She had to ask Ms. S a lot of questions, but nonetheless had the impression that she was able to make connections in the material; for example, she was reminded of things she said in the first interview when talking in the third interview. She came across as quite intact in spite of her traumatic, oppressive childhood.
Dr. John Donadeo said that the reason Ms. S is not more disturbed is that she got intense gratification out of being so important to her mother. This counteracted the traumatic oppression. Also she tends to subtly exaggerate in a hysterical manner. She was not treated quite as badly as she says.

Also I'm worried about so much sexual material coming out in the first interview, this is primary process material and a bad sign.
Dr. Klaus Angel was not worried about the sexual material. He noted that it is not uncommon in a hysterical patient that one hears
