The death of Martin Stein deprived psychoanalysis of one of its most gifted contributors, and this Journal of one of its earliest supporters.
Martin Stein was a modest man, but his achievements were not. His papers glow with a rare combination of wit, literary style, and psychoanalytic sophistication. We rededicate to his memory our issue already publised in his honor in the hope that the analysts of the future can learn as much from Martin Stein as did we his students.
