The last issue of the Journal marked the end of Mrs. Lisa Miller's term as Editor. We would like to thank her for her long and hard work, the high standards she set, and the generous and enthusiastic spirit with which she headed the Editorial Team.
Our thanks are due also to other members of the Committee who have finished their terms, and to Mrs. Kerry Kelly Novick who, up until this year, worked for a number of years as Corresponding Editor, U.S.A.
This issue is thus the first of an Editorial Committee that is both re-grouped and new. Just as the membership of the Committee reflects the various schools of thought within the Association, we hope that the Journal will continue to represent the various interests and points of view of Child Psychotherapists. These interests and points of view are indicative of the spirit of continuity and change within our profession. Individual psycho-analytic and psychotherapeutic work remains the mainstay of our profession: there is also increasing interest in and need for applied work. Examples of both the former and the latter are seen in this issue.
In future issues we hope to realise two projects, begun with the previous Team. We would still like to introduce a correspondence section, consisting of responses to published papers, and in this way add an element of active dialogue to the Journal. The aims of the second project are to increase awareness and knowledge of work done abroad, as well as to foster links with overseas members. We are thus asking eight Association members from six different countries to act as Overseas Representatives for the Journal. The task will be to encourage submission of papers to the Journal, and the enthusiastic response thus far perhaps indicates both the timeliness of and the need for such an innovation.
