Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Taylor & Francis, publishers of the Journal of Child Psychotherapy, the Editors are pleased to request entries for this prize.
Following the success of the First JCP Essay Prize the Editors are pleased to announce that in 2005 there will be two Essay Prizes each of £750:
Clinical Essay Prize. As is the 100th anniversary of the publication of two of Freud's famous papers - ‘Dora’ and ‘Three Essays on Sexuality’ - the Journal invites papers that examine the relevance of such early ideas to our current work and thinking.
Research Essay Prize. On any research topic which is of relevance to child psychotherapy.
The winning papers will be published in the Journal, as will any suitable runners-up. We are also hoping to arrange for the winning papers to be delivered as a public lecture. Entries will be judged by a panel to be appointed by the Editors.
The deadline for submission is the 30 September 2005 and the winner will be announced by the end of November.
Entries may be submitted in the usual way (but should be clearly marked as being for the Essay Prize) or sent as an e-mail attachment direct to Janine Sternberg, co-editor, at
