F. M. Greenbaum died at his home in Manchester on 1 November 1961.
After graduating from Berlin in 1932 he studied in Zürich and came to this country shortly before the war. He started an analytical practice in Manchester, where he had considerable success. Later he joined the staff of two hospitals: Salford Royal Hospital and Hope Hospital, where his lectures and demonstrations evoked much appreciation from his colleagues. He was one of the early members of the London Society of Analytical Psychology and the only training analyst outside London.
His lively, vivacious, and colourful personality will be remembered by all those who knew him. They regretted that he made little contact with his analytic colleagues in London.
