(Ed.). Aurora consurgens. Trans. by R. F. C. Hull and A. S. B. Glover. London, Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1966. pp. xv + 555. 45s.
This medieval alchemical text may have been written by Aquinas during the last days of his life, when his intellectual defence against such unconscious material had broken down. The text becomes intelligible when studied along the lines of Jung's psychology, and it provides a most aptly-edited companion to his Mysterium coniunctionis.
Selbstmord und seelische Wandlung (Suicide and psychic transformation). Zürich, Rascher, 1966. pp. 163. S.Fr. 14. Paperback.
Here is a German translation of Hillman's book Suicide and the soul which has already been reviewed in this journal (10 2, ). Hilde Binswanger's translation does ample justice to its rich style and to the provocative passages. A. Guggenbuhl-Craig's preface successfully evokes the right frame of mind in which to approach the different, sometimes extreme, positions taken by the author.
The meaning in dreams and dreaming. New York, Citadel Press, 1966. pp. 256. $5.95.
A book for laymen who wish to learn to understand the meaning of their dreams and to lessen collective unconsciousness without commitment to an analyst, but according to the concepts of Jung.
