Abstract

Bion's Experience in groups appeared in 1961. The present volume is the fifth in a line of successive books which have earned him a well-deserved place as an original mind among psychoanalysts generally and followers of Klein in particular. Three books ago he started his ‘grid’ in an attempt to classify the transactions which go on in an analytical session according to two axes: vertically the developmental stages of emerging material, horizontally some of the uses to which it can be put.
