The Executive Committee of the International Association for Analytical Psychology under the presidency of Gerhard Adler has asked the Society of Analytical Psychology, London, to organize the triennial event for the second time.
The Congress will be held in the London University School of Pharmacy, Brunswick Square, from Wednesday, August 28, to Wednesday, September 4. Brunswick Square is within walking distance of numerous hotels where block bookings are being made in three categories of accommodation. A further advantage is that the School of Pharmacy can provide communal lunches at a very reasonable price.
Accredited senior trainees recommended by their national groups will be welcome, as also will spouses of members in accordance with the decision of the Executive Committee in 1971. The Congress fee, excluding the banquet, will be approximately £16. The increase in fee is due partly to rising costs and partly to our attempt to have Italian as the fourth language with interpreters.
We have again asked Congress Services Limited to be the Congress Administrators and the organizing committee of the London Group will have Alison Lyons as chairman and Dorothy Ogden as secretary.
The theme of the Congress will be: The Role of Analytical Psychology in a Changing Civilization. As several members expressed the wish to have fewer papers with more time for discussion and personal contact there will be only two papers each morning, with an afternoon discussion.
On Saturday morning there will be only one paper and discussion and the delegates’ meeting will follow, leaving Saturday afternoon and all Sunday completely free, though an outing can be arranged on Saturday afternoon if enough members wish to participate.
Wednesday, August 28, is reserved for registration at the School of Pharmacy, and the same evening there will be a reception at a place still to be arranged. The banquet will be on Monday night. We hope to organize
