This paper continues the work previously reviewed in these pages (19, 2) of Dr Pontius's analysis of the form of narrative tests. She shows a significant lag in the maturation of delinquents (53 per cent) compared to normals (30 per cent) in the ability to change the direction of a narrative. She hypothesises from there that the young delinquent intending robbery may end in killing if the owner of the house disturbs him. This avenue of research is obviously too important to go unnoticed.
