My own understanding of Langs's method would not be possible without the valuable contributions my patients have made to my continuing growth and development as an analyst. I have learned much from them and I hope that in my sharing of this learning I have sufficiently disguised them so that their identities are recognisable to no one except, perhaps, the patients themselves.
