The search for psychic truth referred to in the title seems to me to be the search for psyche/soma wholeness, though it is not put so baldly in this interesting paper. It begins with some remarks on the effect physical appearances of analyst and patient may have on each other and how in the first few meetings these appearances may affect progress. Indeed, I even think visual appearances may determine whether patients stay or not—more often than our analytic arrogance would like to acknowledge. The author also speaks of the physical pains patients bring to analysis that can be reached through careful understanding of the transference.
The paper continues with a statement of the position of analytical psychology
