My paper is a response to the clinical material in Mara Sidoli's paper about two patients who in the course of their treatment create an important symbol - a roaring symbol. In my response I construct a Freudian lion from the material of the first patient, and a Jungian lion from the second one. In both instances the vicissitudes of aggression as discussed are extracted from the therapeutic process.
