This is the first of five issues of the Journal of Analytical Psychology which will be published this year. The second issue of this volume will continue to maintain the clinical focus which is a hallmark of the Journal, containing a number of papers around the subject of trauma. However analytical psychology has also provided scope for academic and theoretical papers which arise out of related disciplines; these are reflected in the range of papers published in this issue which explore aspects of analytical psychology from anthropological, historical and empirical perspectives.
We have therefore decided to appoint a number of specialist advisers who are not necessarily themselves analytical psychologists but whose expertise in other fields, together with their knowledge of Jungian studies, can contribute to our editorial process. Professor Paul Bishop from the University of Glasgow, Dr Raya Jones from Cardiff University, Dr Craig Peery from the University of Utah, Paul Roazen, Professor Emeritus of York University, Toronto, and Professor Allan Schore from the University of California are joining our editorial board. We are very glad to welcome them and also Jo Ann Culbert-Koehn as our new US associate editor while our special thanks go to Dr James Wyly for his years as associate editor.
