Overall the article ‘Art, dreams and active imagination: a post-Jungian approach to transference and the image’ by Joy Schaverien (Journal of Analytical Psychology, 2005, 50, 2, 127-53) is excellent. However, her reference to my work is misleading. First of all, the article's first author, Derek Bergeron, is left out. Also, in our paper, we provide evidence revealing that the formulae, such as the traditional model of picture interpretation, are not valid and we call for more research and other methods of introspection compatible with Schaverien's article.
[The author wishes to apologize to David Rosen et al for the regrettable omission of Derek Bergeron's name in the article as he rightfully deserves recognition.]
