War is a tremendous experience. It is a huge challenge to analyse in such difficult conditions. The peculiarity of Ukrainian analysts' work is that they work with trauma, while living amid trauma themselves. The war has affected their own families as well as the families of their clients. Like other traumas, war brings division and splitting. People find themselves in a space between the past and the future (where there seems to be no present), between life and death, between faith and despair. War is a liminal experience, which clients describe as unreal, surreal, and easy to get lost in. In this article, the author describes the specifics of working with clients during wartime conditions in Ukraine.
