The journal is revisiting a strand which we have often considered before—an invitation to readers to submit an article entitled “A day in the life of a therapist”. This feels particularly apposite now, at the time in the evolution of psychotherapy and counselling psychology as disciplines, with their multifaceted theoretical views and clinical expressions. Today, our careers might encompass face-to-face work, online work, NHS work, and private practice; we are asked to justify our decisions about our ways of working in a climate of constant research and development; funding is limited, and yet the importance of mental health is headline news. Our choices and our practice are all a part of the experiential research which constantly reconsiders and reinvents our working lives. We invite readers of all levels of experience to engage with this series, sending us their own personal viewpoint, so as to open up a dialogue, challenge stereotypes, and reveal the integrative way of working in all its diversity.
Our first article, by Dan Moran, is a reflective and engaging piece of writing, which I hope will both interest you and encourage you to send us some personal reflections of your own.
Submissions of 850 to 1,000 words are invited from all practitioners in the professions. We would be delighted to hear from you.
