In this issue, and from time to time, Modern Psychoanalysis presents selected research articles on current thinking in psychoanalysis.
Two reports are included in this section: Jane Goldberg's study of recent papers on the differential effects of the sex of the therapist on treatment, entitled Aggression and the Female Therapist; and Muriel L. Sackler's study of the effect of students' verbalizing negative attitudes to the teacher and their peers on their ability to remain in and pass their course, entitled The Effect of Verbalization of Negative Attitudes on Scholastic Performance.
Also included is an abstract of Kenneth Weissblum's research dealing with the influence of both academic background and psychoanalytic training on the students' choice of interventions. Dr. Weissblum found no significant effects of previous academic back-ground on psychoanalytic technique.
