To say that every one of Freud's words has become enshrined is no longer an exaggeration. Through computer technology it is now possible to locate any word at all that Freud used, as these have been translated into English. This magnificent Concordance lists each word in the Standard Edition (excluding “the”, “and”, etc.), gives a frequency count of its occurrence, the phrase in which it occurs, title of the work in which it appears, and the original date of publication.
Such a work is both an aid to further study and testimony to the continuing influence of the thinker whose words are still being pondered by psychoanalysts, intellectual historians, and philosophers. This Concordance will most certainly be of help to anyone wishing to cite Freud, to recall just where some dimly remembered quotation occurred, or to try to comprehend his full significance.
