Neville Symington seems well on his way to being the first modern analyst on the continent of Australia. His book, The Analytic Experience, examines the philosophy, history, and process of psychoanalysis from Freud through the current theorists; and he seems personally to come to conclusions similar to those of modern psychoanalysis. Symington makes the process of psychoanalysis sound poetic. One comes away with the feeling that the curative power of the emotional analytic relationship is about the most powerful and important experience in one's lifetime.
