This paper focuses on the use of writing in the life and analysis of a young woman, beginning with a presentation of the analysis and ending with a discussion of the role of writing in the patient's life and in her analysis. The author demonstrates how the analytic process helped to free the woman's writing from its autistic function and facilitate its transformation into a builder of identity rather than a substitute for it.
