This paper explores the impact of the analyst's pregnancy on the life of the patient as well as reasons for a lack of balanced reporting on the topic. The case studies section examines and discusses cases that have been reported in the literature with a focus on patients who became pregnant or impregnated someone (the majority of which resulted in abortions) around the time of the analyst's pregnancy. These occurrences are discussed as they relate to the emergence of a triadic relationship in the treatment.
