Speaking the Never Spoken: The Challenge of id Analysis*

One of the founders of the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis (BGSP), the only free-standing institution granting graduate degrees in psychoanalysis. Dr. Shepherd has written a number of articles expanding and elaborating the basic concepts in Modern Psychoanalysis. She claimed in her 2008 article, “The Silent Revolution in Psychoanalysis: Hyman Spotnitz and the Reversibility of Schizophrenia,” that Spotnitz' advances in technique constituted a revolution in the field, opening psychoanalytic cure to all diagnoses. She is a training and supervising analyst at BGSP and has a private practice in Cambridge, MA.
