Creating conditions for the realization of the work on neuropsychoanalytical investigation was the group's main goal during 2001. For this purpose we made dedicated studies of neuroscientific, psychoanalytic, and neuropsychoanalytic works. Some members have taken part in international events, such as the Second International Neuro-Psychoanalysis Congress, April 2001, in New York.
The president of the group, Yusaku Soussumi, has accepted invitations from many different Brazilian centers to speak on neuropsychoanalysis to psychologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, and psychoanalysts. The subject of neuropsychoanalysis has attracted much interest. Dr. Soussumi also took part in the panel on “Psychoanalysis and Neuroscience” at the IPA Congress in Nice, July 2001, “A Psychoanalytical Experience Oriented by Neuroscience.” He also presented a paper on “Dreams—A Neuropsychoanalytic View” at the Brazilian Congress of Psychoanalysis and took part in panels at the Eighth Congress of Psychiatry and the Second Congress of Psychosomatics, both inSão Paulo.
