In January 2003 the Finnish Neuro-Psychoanalysis Study Group was initiated. The group consists of 15 psychiatrists and psychologists, all with psychoanalytic or psychotherapeutic training and some with a neuropsychological specialty. We have met monthly during the spring of 2003 and discussed theoretical and clinical problems related to the subject of neuropsychoanalysis, such as consciousness, memory, and trauma. One member has presented clinical material on disorders of memory and consciousness following a tuberothalamic infarction.
There is a wide interest in neuro-psychoanalysis in Finland, and we are considering how to go about inviting interested persons to participate in our activities.
