The multidisciplinary study group of CEINPSP meets every week to evaluate activities. Constituted by professionals trained in the areas of neuroscience, psychoanalysis, psychology, psychiatry, phonoaudiology, family counseling, education, and business, the group is working with the clear aim of exchanging and aggregating new knowledge by doing research based on an interdisciplinary approach.
We are now conducting two research studies related to brain-injured patients and their families, aiming at the development and possible recovery of the patient. We hope to achieve this by means of neuro-psychoanalysis-based therapies, encompassing the knowledge of the different areas of expertise represented by the different members of the group, and especially applying Dr. Soussumi's developments during 20 years of a “Theory of the Registers.”
The group will soon initiate a new research project on “aggressive behavior,” under the supervision of Dr. Lucia Coelho.
The main obstacle to our work is the lack of financial resources for paying the laboratory and neuroimaging studies required for the confirmation of our hypotheses. The group is currently trying to raise the necessary funds.
