The South Brazilian Group continues to work with the patients presented in previous reports. One of these cases deserves a brief comment. In the case of an epileptic patient the treatment should be conjointly carried out (neurological and psychological) as the caretakers need support in dealing with the feeling of loss each time the patient suffers a fit. If the parents understand the feelings of the patient, the patient adapts more confidently to instructions and to the daily intake of medicine.
The group has also started with meetings once a month to study and discuss the classical cases within neuropsychology. The writings of Ramachandran have also been included, with the intention of preparing people for the Congress in Italy, September 2004. People seem to get more interested when theory is introduced through clinical cases.
Anyone working in the field is welcome to join us.
