Our Study Group, meeting monthly, has been a source of growing satisfaction. New people have joined the group, and the needs and interests of these new members have
been decisive in choosing the topic for this year. The first semester (summer/autumn 2004) dealt with neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, as well as with Consilience— The Unity of Knowledge, by Edward Wilson (1998). The models of neurodynamic localization, described by Solms and Luria, have been another subject of study. The publication in Portuguese of Solms's article in Scientific American has created a great deal of interest, and more email contacts have been established afterwards.
For the Rome Congress of Neuro-Psychoanalysis in September 2004, we made two poster presentations. In planning for the 2005 International Congress in Rio de Janeiro, psychoanalysts from our country have already made contact with our group, which is another good sign.
