On 20-22 May 2004, CEINPSP organized a major event in São Paulo: “First Journey of Neuroscience and Psychoanalysis: A Meeting with Mark Solms.” The meeting was also supported by the Brazilian Society of Psychoanalysis in São Paulo, by the Institute “Sedes Sapientiae,” by the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry, and by the Institute of Research and Education in Medicine, Psychoanalysis, and Psychotherapy. The event was met with great interest by the scientific community in São Paulo, and it was completely sold out. On the first day, an extra room with a television screen had to be arranged to accommodate the audience.
While in São Paulo, Dr. Solms was interviewed by Folha de S. Paulo, one of the two leading daily newspapers in Brazil. The interview was published in a Sunday issue, on 20 June. At the same occasion, Dr. Solms also gave an interview to Scientific American/Brazil.
