In April 2005, GENPSA-Rio organized its first meeting, “Journey of Neuro-Psychoanalysis,” at the Psychoanalytical Society of Rio de Janeiro. Among the speakers were some members of the International Society of Neuro-Psychoanalysis: Altamirando de Andrade Jr., Victor Manoel Andrade, and Elie Cheniaux. The meeting was very well attended.
A small study group on neuro-psychoanalysis is presently meeting at the Institute of Psychiatry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Generally we are discussing articles from the journal Neuro-Psychoanalysis. The whole of GENPSA-Rio now has 81 members.
Some members participated actively in the International Congress of Neuro-Psychoanalysis held in Rio in July 2005. Altamirando de Andrade Jr. and Victor Manoel Andrade were among the speakers, and Elie Cheniaux, Luis Alfredo Vidal de Carvalho, Claudio Frankenthal, and Roseli Wedemann presented posters.
