This issue's Target Article, by Karen Klein Villa and colleagues, is a test of Freud's hypothesis about the functional distinctiveness of word meaning and word presentation, using subliminal primes. As usual, the article is followed by a set of commentaries by neu-roscientists and psychoanalysts, who discuss various aspects of the proposal and also comment on larger theoretical questions.
In the Original Articles section, we publish an article on hallucinosis and dreams after brainstem lesion by Annaik Feve and Gabrielle Hart, an article on denial of deficit by Giles Yeates and colleagues, an article on loss of dreaming after focal brain lesion by Calvin Kai-Ching Yu, and an article on preserved transference in amnesia by Oliver Turnbull and colleagues.
As always, the issue ends with the usual Book Review, Research Digest, and International Bulletin sections.
