We are happy this time to introduce two fully new member groups and one old/new group. For some time we have been hoping for a group in Asia, and now the wish has come true. Kazuyuki Hirao from Kyoto has been able both to start the first Japanese Neuro-Psychoanalytic Study Group and to publish the first translation in Japanese of Solms and Turnbull's The Brain and the Inner World. That is indeed a wonderful accomplishment, for which we congratulate him. At the same time Gilles Delisle, in Montreal, Canada, has initiated a new neuropsychoanalytic group, and this already has several projects running. It is also in the friendly city of Montreal that our next Congress will take place. Meanwhile, in Paris, Jean Benjamin Stora has rejuvenated the French group that for some time we had lost contact with. We welcome them back.
At the time of writing, the Congress in Vienna has just finished. Even if the subject was “depression”, most delegates seemed very happy about the presentations on the theme, the discussions, and the organization. As always we have to thank especially Paula Barkay, Pat Porter, and their team, working together with Gyuri Fodor in Vienna.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or Maggie Zellner if you have any questions or require information on our joint work.
