Dr. Y. Soussumi is the General Coordinator and is responsible for the theoretical foundations and strategies in the implantation of the “Virada Social” Project of Social Development sponsored by Inst. Rukha, treating children and adolescents at social risk, as well as families and communities where they belong. This intervention is made by means of direct socioedu-cative actions, working in partnership with other institutions located in needy communities, aiming at the formation of a wider-reaching net allowing joint action. The Virada Project, based on neuropsychoanalytic principles developed from CEINP's studies and research, is focused on awareness and biopsychosocial and transcendental development of communities with minimal resources, as well as socially and economic privileged ones.
Dr. Soussumi is a Coordinator, together with Professor Dr. J. J. Mari, Professor Dr. M. Feijö, and Dr. A. R. L. Lima, of the partnership between Rukha/CEINP with UNIFESP (Federal University of Säo Paulo) for the development of studies and projects in the areas of neuropsychoanalysis, psychiatry, psychoanalysis, and the neurosciences. This partnership will work in mutual cooperation in the field of preventative and curative mental health in the Virada Project. The planned action will help in the study of the roots of violence and of situations that favor biopsychic pathologies such as PTSD and depression. Dr. Soussumi is a neuropsychoanalytic supervisor in the research “Early Stress and Mental Disease—A Study of the Impact of Early Maternal Separation in Children's Development and System of Reaction to Stress,” at the Psychiatric Department of UNIFESP, in conjunction with the Maternity Hospital Vila Nova Cachoei-rinha, with financial support from FAPESP (Foundation for Research Support in the State of S.
