This textbook is a most valuable reference text and resource for the psychiatric, neurologic, neuropsychiatric, or neuropsychologic clinician. Although it is a massive reference text, with the price commensurate to its considerable weight and bulk (weighing in at almost 7 pounds and costing $275), many chapters are reference-grade, offering first-rate summaries of large and challenging areas of literature. What sets this volume apart, in my judgment, are not simply dozens of good-to-excellent chapter summaries of critical clinical domains, but in addition a most courageous decision to make available (as part of the textbook itself) a CD-ROM containing PowerPoint presentations summarizing each chapter. This is, in my experience, unprecedented in a textbook—and, for that matter, unprecedented in most reference texts of any kind. This means that virtually all of the graphics in each chapter are available in a PowerPoint slide for teaching and presentation functions to both researchers and clinicians who might be teaching these subjects to students at any level. I cannot recall another textbook freely providing such an invaluable resource (although I am informed that it is becoming somewhat more common practice). As someone who does a great deal of teaching and who believes that a graphical emphasis really helps learning and encoding of conceptually dense and difficult material, I have found the provision of hundreds and hundreds of graphical images from each textbook chapter absolutely invaluable. Indeed, in my judgment, the CD-ROM itself might be worth $275 if you do a lot of teaching on the subject domains covered by the textbook. The PowerPoint files on the CD-ROM encompass over 145 MB, including 755 slides. These slides can be readily copied and incorporated into one's own presentations—but giving credit, of course, to the source materials—but saving anyone from many hours of work involved in e-mailing authors and laboriously harvesting and incorporating graphic im
