The Berlin Neuropsychoanalysis Young Investigators have been meeting since December 2008. At our first meeting, Moritz de Greek presented an ongoing study design, and Felicity Callard presented a critical review of various approaches to neuropsychoanalysis. Roland Nigbur presented a study design at the second meeting entitled “Effects of Reward and Punishment on Conflict Monitoring,” and we then discussed a recent article by Turnbull and Solms (2007). Christine Gerstenfeld led a discussion at the third meeting on “The Case against Neuropsychoanalysis” by Blass and Carmeli (2007). Most recently, we have been exploring cognitive neuroimaging approaches to prayer, and how those findings can be read from a psychoanalytic perspective.
