1. The main achievement of the Polish group is the publication in 2009, by the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, of the first book in Polish dedicated solely to neuropsychoanalysis, From Neurobiology to Psychotherapy (Murawiec & Zechowski, 2009). It contains chapters by Polish authors and translations of papers by scientists from other countries, covering a wide range of topics in neuroscience and psychoanalysis, as can be seen in the titles of some example chapters:
Drew Westen: “The Scientific Status of Unconscious Processes”
Mark Solms: “The Interpretation of Dreams and the Neurosciences”
Allan N. Schore: “Dysregulation of the Right Brain: A Fundamental Mechanism of Traumatic Attachment and the Psychopathogenesis of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder”
Slawomir Murawiec: “Psychodynamic Interpretation of Psychotropic Medication”
Cezary Žechowski: “Randomized Controlled Trial and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy”
The reception of the book was very good, and over 700 copies were sold between October and December 2009.
2. Two reports from the 2009 Neuropsychoanalysis Congress in Paris were published in Polish scientific journals in 2009. The first was in Polish Psychiatry (Psychiatria Polska, 43: 619-620) and the second in Neuropsychiatry and Neuropsychology (Neuropsychiatria i Neuropsychologia, 4: 163-167). In addition, the journal Psychotherapy published the paper “Neuropsychoanalysis: Introduction to the Basic Assumptions and Theoretical Aspects” by Slawomir Murawiec .
3. Although the seminars that were conducted previously were not continued in 2009, we continue to be engaged in providing general information to professionals about neuropsychoanalysis.
