This edition of the Bulletin showcases reports of the activities of several of our regional groups during the latter half of 2024 and into the beginning of 2025. The Bulletin details the ongoing work of groups in Sweden, Northern California, Turkey, Tel Aviv, Oxford, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Mexico City, Liverpool, Madrid, and Bulgaria. Lectures, seminars, and discussion groups – some in-person and some held remotely – are among the ways in which our groups develop and communicate their ideas. The diversity of approaches to integrating neuroscience and psychoanalysis is evident in the range of topics, including psychodrama, psychosomatics, neuropsychiatric syndromes, Lacanian perspectives, and clinical applications of neuropsychoanalytic concepts. The collective reports demonstrate the global reach of neuropsychoanalysis and the interdisciplinary collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and academics from various fields including psychology, psychiatry, neurology, and philosophy. The importance of Jaak Panksepp's affective neuroscience remains central to the explorations of many groups. Looking ahead, regional groups are planning lectures and events focused on dreams, memory reconsolidation, insomnia, and psychosomatics, among other promising areas of inquiry.
We thank all regional groups for their dedication to our thriving neuropsychoanalytic community and applaud their valuable work that is advancing our field.
We would also like to thank our dear colleague Maria Sonia Goergen for her role as past editor of the Bulletin. She has now stepped down, and we are honored to be the successors of her excellent work for the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society!
