We introduce the first issue of 2026 announcing significant changes to our editorial team. We would like to dedicate this issue to our dear colleagues David Olds and Richard Kessler, who have now concluded their activities with the Journal. Their contributions to the Journal and to the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society have been invaluable. David joined the team in 2007 and later served as Target Articles Editor. His detailed work guided the development of numerous influential papers. Richard, who became a co-editor in 2018, consistently provided insightful feedback. His good humor helped resolve the most difficult conflicts constructively. Working with David and Richard has left a lasting impression on the team. Their guidance and professionalism are deeply appreciated and will be missed. Their departure has led to other changes. Richard’s co-editor since 2020, Iftah Biran, has now assumed the role of Target Articles Editor. Given Iftah’s extensive experience, we are fortunate to have one of our most meticulous editors in this position. We also invited a new Associate Editor; Lois Oppenheim has joined the team. Her experience as both author and editor will be an asset to the Journal. We would like to extend our gratitude to all former editors and to the current editorial team for their dedication and hard work. The new configuration of the team can be consulted on the Journal’s website at . (As always, members of the Society with journal access can get full-text articles at .)
This issue features the response to the commentaries of our latest target article by William Singletary and Timothy Rice titled “Two Diverging Paths in Psychological and Neurobiological Organization: Using or Refusing Love” (Singletary & Rice, 2025). The authors address the insightful points raised by Rizzolo (2025), Hoffman (2025), Barrett (2025), Novick and Novick (2
