Religious attitudes often cover neurotic behavior or feelings. Lechat tries to explain how we should deal with them in the course of an analysis. He insists that it is primarily a problem of tact and that analysts should not influence the patient to avoid leading him into a dependence. Lechat's advice seems to me to be rather an avoidance than a real analysis of this part of the personality.
