This is a discussion of psychosomatic medicine which contains a warning that the pendulum should not swing too far away from the organic materialistic medicine of the nineteenth century. While our unconscious commands many bodily reactions, we should not forget that it has always been man's wish to rule omnipotently over his body and his universe.
