THE FRENCH PSYCHOANALYTIC INSTITUTE opened in Paris, 187 rue Saint-Jacques, March 1953.
It is founded to give courses of study in psychoanalysis, clinical and theoretical, to candidates who have begun their personal analyses, under the direction and supervision of instructors of the Institute. It operates a diagnostic and therapeutic center for patients of limited means. It will organize and pursue research in all studies within the province of psychoanalysis.
The Psychoanalytic Society in Paris, relieved of all responsibility for the organization and supervision of teaching, becomes henceforth the medium for encouraging and communicating scientific works in psychoanalysis.
Dr. S. Nacht is Director of the Institute. His scientific associates are Dr. S. Lebovici and Dr. M. Benassy. Dr. H. Sauguet is administrative secretary of the Institute.
