Perversion and antisocial sexual behavior in children and adolescents results from adaptation of the child's ego to subtle attitudes of its parents which distort the instinctual development of the child. Parents of these children unwittingly seduce them and encourage their aberrant behavior. Clues obtained from the parents are useful in treatment of the child. One or both parents and the child must be treated concurrently by therapists who collaborate. Often the child must be briefly separated from the parents at the beginning of treatment; the aberrant behavior, and its encouragement by the parents, must be prohibited by the therapist. After treatment is accepted by the child, its pregenital fixations and castration anxiety can be analyzed in the usual way.
